Direct comparison of PEN and TPB wavelength shifters in a liquid argon detector

چکیده
A large number of particle detectors employ liquid argon as their target material owing to its high scintillation yield and ability drift ionization charge over distances. Scintillation light from is peaked at 128 nm a wavelength shifter required for efficient detection. In this work, we directly compare the achieved in two identical chambers, one which equipped with PolyEthylene Naphthalate (PEN) other TetraPhenyl Butadiene (TPB) shifter. Both chambers are lined enhanced specular reflectors instrumented SiPMs coverage fraction approximately 1%, represents geometry comparable future scale detectors. We measured PEN chamber be 39.4$\pm$0.4(stat)$\pm$1.9(syst)% TPB chamber. Using Monte Carlo simulation result used extract shifting efficiency relative equal 47.2$\pm$5.7%.
